This Core of Knowledge course is designed for you to understand the safety of lasers and to provide you with a fundamental understanding of laser and light technology. It will educate you on how light reacts with the skin to produce specific biological effects, hazards/risks that may occur, how to deal with them and how to use laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) safely.

It also covers relevant standards and regulations governing their use in professional settings.

The core of Knowledge is essential training for professionals of Laser and Light treatments in the medical and aesthetics industry. It is a basic legal requirement for all technicians to achieve this certification, referred to in the MHRA document. 

Core of knowledge covers topics that all laser/light technicians are expected to know - ranging from fundamentals of laser and light devices, to risk assessment and the roles of Laser Protection Advisors (LPA).

It is applicable to many treatments from laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, laser skin rejuvenation, laser pigmentation, carbon laser facials and much more.
