The ProQual Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work provides a nationally recognised qualification for those wishing to carry out an emergency first aider role in the workplace. This qualification is designed to address the requirements set out in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

This qualification would be suitable for people who wish to carry out an emergency first aider role within a voluntary organisation, or for delivery to the general public to provide fundamental, potentially lifesaving, first aid knowledge and skills.

This qualification has been developed in line with the national requirements for first aid qualifications, Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and the best practice set out by the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum.

This qualification is an essential prerequisite for students undertaking the ProQual Level 5 Aesthetic qualification.

Entry Requirements & Prerequisites

There are no entry requirements.

All learners must prove they hold a relevant English Language qualification, if English is not their first language.

The Aims of this Level 3 First Aid Qualification

Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
Assess an incident.
Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty.
Provide first aid to a casualty by administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
Provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
Provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
Provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries.

Your assignment, can be downloaded at the end of your online training modules, you have a 4 week deadline to complete this assignment and submit it to us.

Practical Assessments

4 x First Aid Practical Assessments.

During the ProQual Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, you will learn the roles and responsibilities expected of an emergency first aider. You will be able to assess, recognise and manage a casualty with a range of injuries and symptoms.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you will become an approved emergency first aider. The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate is valid for three years.

The aim is to develop the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to carry out emergency first aid in the workplace, including scene surveys of casualties. These will include casualties who are unresponsive and not breathing normally, unresponsive and breathing normally, choking, in shock, suffering from external bleeding and minor injuries.

The majority of this time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out first aid in the workplace. There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge.

All of the theoretical sides of this training course will be undertaken via our online training portal. Once you book your course and payment has been received, you will be sent your login details, to sign in and complete your theory home study modules.
