The ProQual Level 4 Diploma in Non-Surgical Body Contouring provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working in the beauty and aesthetics industry, who wish to develop and demonstrate their competence in providing non-surgical body contouring treatments.

This qualification is an essential prerequisite for students undertaking the ProQual Level 5 Aesthetic qualification.

Entry Requirements

A ofqual Regulated Level 3 qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.

A Ofqual Regulated Level 3 qualification in a relevant sector.

If you do not already have this qualification, we teach it.

All learners must prove they hold a relevant English Language qualification, if English is not their first language.

The Aims of this Qualification

To develop an understanding of non-surgical body contouring treatments.
To develop and demonstrate competence in non-surgical body contouring treatments.
To provide a progression route within the beauty and aesthetics industry for those interested in advanced skin treatments.

Course Requirements

This is a 2 Day Practical Training Course, you can start this course straight away.

3 Assignments need to be completed before any practical training, so the first few months will be assignments and pre learning modules via our online training portal.

There are 5 assignments to complete in total.

You have 1 year to complete the course.

Practical Assessments

10 x Practical Assessments.

5 x Ultrasound Cavitation

5 x Radio Frequency

You will be required to supply models for the course.

We will do our best to find some models, but this cannot be guarenteed.

This course is a Radio Frequency and Ultrasound Cavitation course, which includes training in skin tightening, contouring and non-surgical bum lift.

Machine Options
Machines will be discussed during your course; you can purchase your machine from anywhere that you choose. We do have our own machines that you can find in our online shop.

Radio Frequency
It is a non-invasive treatment that uses radio waves directed through a probe head, which is massaged onto the skin. It is otherwise known as skin tightening, which targets the deeper layers of the skin. This creates stimulation of the skin and, in particular, collagen, a substance that gives elasticity to the skin. While the deeper skin layers are being heated.

The treatment can be used on most parts of the body to tighten any loose and sagging skin, causing it to tighten, lift and reshape.

Ultrasound Cavitation
It is a method of liposuction. Cavitation destroys fat cells by using low-frequency sound waves. Once the fat cell is destroyed, the fat is discharged between the cells, where they are turned into protein and then changed to fatty acids and glycerol. Free fatty acids are moved to the liver, where they are broken down and removed from the body, while glycerol is used as energy.

It is especially effective in the removal of cellulite. Cavitation is the perfect treatment for clients who want to contour their bodies and regain their confidence and figure.

We do recommend taking this course to tighten your client's skin and the Fat Freezing course together to dissolve the fat. Both courses do different things.

All of the theoretical sides of this training course will be undertaken via our online training portal. Once you book your course and payment has been received, you will be sent your login details, to sign in and complete your theory home study modules.

There are 6 modules to this course, you must complete the modules throughout the course.

UK Aesthetics Regulation: What the August 2025 Gov.uk Announcement Means

On 6 August 2025, the UK government released a press statement announcing major regulatory changes to the aesthetics industry. These updates are part of the Health and Care Act and aim to crack down on unsafe, unregulated treatments.

According to the Department of Health and Social Care, this will include:

A new licensing system for non-surgical cosmetic procedures in England.
Limiting high-risk treatments (such as non-surgical BBLs) to qualified healthcare professionals (Medics) in CQC-registered premises.
A requirement for local authority licensing for providers offering injectables like Botox and fillers.
A ban on under-18s receiving high-risk procedures without sign-off from a healthcare professional.

Why These Changes Are Happening

This follows increasing pressure on the NHS to deal with complications from botched procedures, growing public concern, and industry calls for tighter regulation. Health Minister Karin Smyth MP stated that the goal is to protect public safety, regulate rogue practitioners, and bring the industry in line with medical safety standards.

What This Means for You

Whether you are a solo practitioner, clinic owner, or training academy, here’s what you should be doing now:

Upgrade Your CPD Certificates—You are at risk if you offer skin treatments, advanced treatments, or injectables without Ofqual-recognised Qualifications. CPD or manufacturer-led certificates will likely not meet licensing standards.

Check the Treatments You Offer - Are you offering anything that could be classified as high-risk? If so, you may need a healthcare professional on-site or medical oversight to stay compliant.

Prepare for Licensing

When local authorities start issuing licences, they’ll be looking for proof of:

Qualifications (not CPD certificates).
Hygiene and safety protocols.
Insurance.
Treatment suitability assessments.

What Happens Next?

The government will open a public consultation to decide exactly which treatments are considered high-risk, what qualifications are required, and how the licensing system will be enforced.

We expect:

A tiered system classifying treatments as red, amber, or green.
A clear definition of who can perform which treatments.
Enforcement via fines and possible restrictions on non-compliant businesses via local councils.
